Event Details

CHAMPION, WI: Wisconsin’s Our Lady of Good Help National Shrine in Champion, the site of the only Church-approved Marian apparition in the United States of America, has answered the call of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, dedicating its group rosary prayer times as part of prayer marathon in the month of May, traditionally known as the Month of Mary.

Beginning May 1 and throughout the Month of May, Champion will join its sister Marian Apparition Sites across the globe in offering its 10:30 AM cdt daily group rosary and 6:30 PM cdt Sunday rosary prayers onsite and by livestream for the intent of ending the pandemic and ending the fear and division in the family of the church.

The Holy Father has called, “from the entire church, an unceasing prayer that “rises to God,” referencing Acts 12:1-12 of Peter being freed from prison by an angel when the “prayer by the church was fervently being made to God on his behalf. After being miraculously released “he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who is called Mark, where there were many people gathered in prayer”

“Just as we read in this story of Acts, or in the story of the Shrine at the time of the great fire when Adele Brise gathered the community in prayer at The Chapel for divine protection, we join the call to pray fervently and ask our Lord for the protection and true freedom that only he can provide, said The Rev. John Broussard, Rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, WI.

Pilgrims can join the Shrine in prayer on site or by connecting to the livestream on the Shrine’s Youtube @ChampionShrine and Facebook page @ChampionShrine for each of these daily rosaries throughout the month of May. For more information, go to www.championshrine.org.
