DESCRIPTION:Personal veneration is available in the Chapel during the hour before the 11:30 a.m. Mass\, offering quiet time for prayer and reflection. \nSt. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s feast day is January 4. In honor of her life and witness\, the National Shrine will bring her relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day. \nAll are welcome to attend and pray with this holy wife\, mother\, educator\, and religious sister on her feast day! \nSt. Elizabeth Ann Seton was the first person born in the United States to be canonized a saint. After the death of her husband\, she entered the Catholic Church and devoted her life to serving God through education and care for the poor. She founded the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph’s and established one of the first Catholic schools in the United States\, helping lay the foundation for the Catholic school system in America.

Born in Bohemia\, he came to the United States to serve the growing Catholic population\, especially immigrants. He is remembered for his deep devotion to the Eucharist\, his care for the poor\, and his work to establish Catholic schools. In 1977\, he became the first male American bishop to be canonized a saint.

DESCRIPTION:Each month on the 8th\, The Shrine offers a special Blessing of Expectant Mothers following the 11:30 a.m. Mass in the Apparition Chapel. This monthly blessing entrusts mothers and their unborn children to the loving care of Our Lady of Champion and asks God to grant them health\, peace\, and protection throughout pregnancy. \nAll expectant mothers are warmly invited to participate\, along with their families and loved ones. Through this blessing\, the Church surrounds each mother and child with prayer\, asking the Lord to strengthen them\, guide them\, and fill their hearts with hope as they prepare to welcome the gift of new life.
