Personal veneration is available in the Chapel during the hour before the 11:30 a.m. Mass, offering quiet time for prayer and reflection.
St. Luke the Evangelist’s feast day is on October 18. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.
All are welcome to attend and pray with this great Evangelist on his Feast Day!
St. Luke was the author of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. A physician and companion of St. Paul, he carefully recorded the life and teachings of Jesus and the growth of the early Church. His writings highlight God’s mercy and the call to bring the Good News to all people.
