EVENT DETAILS

Personal veneration is available in the Chapel during the hour before the 11:30 a.m. Mass, offering quiet time for prayer and reflection.

Blessed Stanley Rother’s feast day is July 28. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.

All are welcome to attend and pray with this faithful priest and martyr on his feast day!

Blessed Stanley Rother was an American missionary priest from Oklahoma who served the people of Guatemala. He faithfully ministered to his parishioners during a time of violence and persecution, refusing to abandon them despite threats against his life. He was martyred in 1981 and became the first recognized martyr born in the United States to be beatified.
