St. Bartholomew the Apostle’s feast day is on August 24. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.
All are welcome to attend and pray with this great Apostle on his Feast Day!
St. Bartholomew was one of the Twelve Apostles and is often identified with Nathanael in the Gospel of John. When first introduced to Jesus, he proclaimed Him as the Son of God and the King of Israel. Tradition holds that he later traveled widely to preach the Gospel and remained faithful to Christ even unto martyrdom.
