Personal veneration is available in the Chapel during the hour before the 11:30 a.m. Mass, offering quiet time for prayer and reflection.

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini’s feast day is November 13. In honor of her life and witness, the National Shrine will bring her relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, also known as Mother Cabrini, was an Italian-born religious sister who came to the United States to serve immigrants, especially Italian families. She founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and established schools, hospitals, and orphanages throughout the country. Known for her courage, deep faith, and tireless care for those in need, she became the first United States citizen to be canonized a saint.
