St. James the Greater’s feast day is on July 25. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.
All are welcome to attend and pray with this great Apostle on his Feast Day!
St. James the Greater was one of the Twelve Apostles and part of the inner circle of disciples closest to Jesus. A brother of St. John the Apostle, he witnessed key moments in Christ’s ministry, including the Transfiguration. He became the first of the Apostles to be martyred for the faith and is honored as the patron saint of pilgrims.
