The feast day of Saint Matthias is celebrated on May 14. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.
All are welcome to attend and pray with this great Apostle on his Feast Day!
St. Matthias is the patron saint of tailors, carpenters, and those who struggle with alcoholism. Chosen by the Apostles to replace Judas Iscariot after the events of Pentecost, he faithfully carried on the mission of preaching the Gospel and building up the early Church.
