Personal veneration is available in the Chapel during the hour before the 11:30 a.m. Mass, offering quiet time for prayer and reflection.

St. Thomas the Apostle’s feast day is on July 3. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.

St. Thomas was one of the Twelve Apostles and is remembered for his encounter with the risen Christ, when he proclaimed, “My Lord and my God!” Tradition holds that he later traveled far to preach the Gospel, bringing the message of Christ even to India. His witness reminds us that faith can grow stronger through seeking and encountering the Lord.
