Personal veneration is available in the Chapel during the hour before the 11:30 a.m. Mass, offering quiet time for prayer and reflection.
St. John the Evangelist’s feast day is on December 27. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day.
All are welcome to attend and pray with this great Evangelist on his Feast Day!
St. John the Evangelist was one of the Twelve Apostles and is traditionally known as the “beloved disciple” of Jesus. He is the author of the Gospel of John, three epistles, and the Book of Revelation. His writings emphasize the love of Christ and the call for believers to remain faithful to the Lord.
